OKC Thunder Take One on the Chin in Phoenix

Thunder vs Suns - 010426

Yo, the Thunder walked into Phoenix looking like the big dogs… and walked out looking like they forgot to lock the back door. OKC had this game in a chokehold early — up 49–31 and cruising — then let the Suns go on an 11–0 run to close the half. That’s how you let a team smell blood.

And don’t even get me started on Jordan Goodwin. A career 32% shooter from deep suddenly turned into Ray Allen, dropping 26 points and eight threes off the bench. That’s the kind of stuff that makes barbershop uncles start yelling “I BEEN telling y’all role players matter!”

Then, with the game tied at 105, Devin Booker hit that cold‑blooded, logo‑range dagger with 0.7 seconds left…over two defenders. That’s the kind of shot that makes the whole shop go silent for two seconds before somebody yells, “BOOK GOT THAT MAMBA IN HIM!”

Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander had 25 but struggled all night, going 8‑for‑22 from the field. Phoenix’s defense made him work for every inch.

Bottom line:

OKC let a winnable game slip, Phoenix’s role players played out of their minds, and Booker reminded everybody why he’s still that guy in crunch time.

Let’s discuss.
